Main Character
The main character of Thirteen Reasons Why is Clay Jensen. When I think of Clay Jensen as a really person, I think what a great guy. Even thought everyone on Hannah’s tapes did something to her to make her think about killing herself. Well Clay Jensen was on those tapes but Hannah states that Clay Jensen does not really belong on the tapes. Clay Jensen was a guy that you never heard anything bad about him and he was always a nice guy to everyone. He does diverse some praise for not making rumors about people that were not true. Clay should also get praise about being a good friend and listener. So, even thought I think Clay is really a great guy, he does make me very mad in the story. Clay makes me upset because he is so shy. He was specialist shy around Hannah. Clay really liked Hannah, and I believe that Hannah and Clay could have been boyfriend girlfriend if he was not so shy. I believe that if Clay was not so shy he could of possible saved Hannah from killing herself. The night of the big party when Hannah and Clay finally got together and talked, was the night that Clay should of stood his ground and told Hannah how he felt about her. I think that would have made a huge change in Hannah’s life and for the better. Well I know that I cannot blame Clay Jensen for Hannah’s death but I do believe he probably could have changed her mind if he was not so shy.

Title Significance
The title of the book I am reading is called, “Thirteen Reasons Why,” by Jay Asher. I am not real far into the book yet so I do not know the complete significance of the title. I do believe that the author chose this title for the book to help explain the tapes in the book and maybe some other things that I have not read about yet. So far, I have found out that a girl, Hannah Baker, has killed herself. Before she killed herself, she made seven tapes with 13 sides of herself talking. Each side of the seven tapes she tells in detail of why she wanted to kill herself. That is where I believe the title of the book came from; “Thirteen Reasons Why”, Hannah Baker killed herself. Then, I also think that maybe there are 13 people that influenced her to kill herself but I do not think that the people realized what they were doing at the time. After Hannah died the tapes she made went out to a list of people one at a time. Maybe there were also 13 people on the list. Hannah also made a map that went along with the tapes, so the people could visit the places she talked about in the tapes. Since I have not read much maybe there are also 13 places on the map to visit as well. I think that the title of the book “Thirteen Reasons Why,” has some kind of connection to everything talked about in the book.

Thirteen Reasons Why
So I have just started reading “Thirteen Reasons Why” and right now I am not very happy with the reading. I am not really excited about this reading because it seems boring to me. When reading I really just want the author to hurry up, and just tell me what happened to Hannah Baker? Why she sent these tapes to people she knew. If I was one of those people that got the tapes to listen to I would probably freak out. So far I think, if I was Clay Jensen right now, the one that has the tapes now and is listening to them, I would have just skipped all the tapes and just sent them to the next person on the list. Who wants to listen to a girl who is dead, talk about her life that does not matter anymore. Listening to a dead girl talk is kind of creepy to me. I know that I would never want to hear my grandma’s voice after she is gone it would just make it hard for me to get over her being gone. I know that I sound kind of mean right now but it is just how I feel. I just have this feeling that I kind of know how this story is going to go and I do feel sorry for Hannah in a way. Then in the other hand she probably chose or put herself in the position for something bad to happen to her. I just hope that I am completely wrong about this story because I really want to like this book that I have to read.

The Great Gatsby
When my teacher in high school, told my classmates and I that we were going to be reading “The Great Gatsby,” for our class I was a little mad. At the time I did not do much reading and I defiantly did not like reading a book that someone had to make me read. So I had gotten in my mind that I was going to hate this book and there was no point in reading it. Then, the day came when my teacher passed “The Great Gatsby” out to the class. Of course, we started to read the book in class that day too. While reading the book in class, I noticed that I actually kind of liked this book. So from there on out I actually read a book for class and liked it. I believe that, I liked this book so much was because I like love stories and in “The Great Gatsby” there was a love story between Gatsby and Daisy. What amazed me about Gatsby and Daisy was that they had fallen in love when they were young but then WWII had broken them up because Gatsby was sent off to war. But the whole time they were apart they stilled had feelings for each other that never died. When Gatsby and Daisy finally meet again it was like they were never apart but for that Daisy was married and had a young daughter. What really broke my heart was that Daisy did not leave her husband to go with her true love Gatsby in the end.
